I run Book Ubud with my family from our home in Petulu, just north of Ubud town. Over the last three years we've grown from a single villa to a small portfolio, and we still meet most guests in person on arrival with a fresh young coconut.
We've held Airbnb Superhost status across every villa we list, and our average response time is under an hour, 07:00–22:00 Bali time. Whether you need a scooter, a driver, a yoga class, a spa, or just a recommendation for the best nasi campur in the village, send me a WhatsApp and I'll sort it.
I speak English and Bahasa Indonesia. My family handles cleaning, check-in and on-the-ground hospitality so there's always somebody five minutes away if you need a hand during your stay.
Booking direct is not a leap of faith. Every villa is Pondok Wisata licensed, we send a written confirmation with bank details before any payment, and cancellation is free up to seven days before check-in. The rate is usually 12–18% lower than the same villa on a listing site, because there is no platform taking a cut.

Booking direct with your host: common questions
Who am I actually booking with?
I Nyoman Suardika, a born-and-raised Ubud host who runs Book Ubud with his family from their home in Petulu, just north of Ubud town. The person who replies on WhatsApp is the same person who meets you at the gate.
Is booking direct safe compared with Airbnb or Booking.com?
Every villa is Pondok Wisata licensed and carries Airbnb Superhost status, with 4.89 out of 5 across 333+ guest reviews. We send a written confirmation with bank details before any payment, and free cancellation runs up to 7 days before check-in.
How do I pay, and how much upfront?
Bank transfer in IDR or USD, Wise, or cash on arrival. A deposit of usually 50 percent confirms the dates, with the balance due at check-in. Nothing is paid before you have the confirmation in writing.
How quickly will someone reply?
Under an hour on average, between 07:00 and 22:00 Bali time. If you message overnight, you will have an answer by morning.
What languages does the team speak?
English and Bahasa Indonesia. The family handles cleaning, check-in and day-to-day hospitality, so somebody is always about five minutes away during your stay.
Can you help with drivers, scooters or day trips?
Yes. Airport pickup with a vetted driver, scooter rental, day-trip drivers, yoga, spa bookings and ferry transfers to the Gilis or Nusa Penida are all arranged directly, with no platform in between.
