About this villa

The Angga Sari Villa experience

Angga Sari Villa is a two-bedroom private retreat in Petulu, Ubud, with a 3×7 m infinity pool, two king-bed ensuites and a fully equipped kitchen, six minutes from Ubud Palace.

Angga Sari Villa is a 2-bedroom private villa in Petulu, Ubud, with a 3×7 m infinity pool, 100 Mbps Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchen, sleeping up to 4 guests.

You find the entrance off Jl. Tirta Tawar by walking down a narrow alley between two family compounds. The first time it feels like you might be lost, which several guests have written about in reviews. Then the path opens into the garden, host I Nyoman Suardika or one of his family meets you with a chilled young coconut sliced open at the top with a straw, and the first thing most arrivals do is sit on the edge of the pool and stop talking for a minute. The villa sits in a working banjar of Petulu, the heron village north of Ubud centre, so the soundscape is geckos, the occasional rooster at dawn, and a temple gamelan once or twice a week if there's a ceremony nearby. It feels like staying with a Balinese family, not at a hotel.

"Three generations stayed including my 5-year-old granddaughter. The place was immaculate, safe and private. Two completely separate rooms and bathrooms meant privacy for everyone. Pool was lovely and a good depth for you…"

The two bedrooms are arranged as separate ensuite pavilions either side of the pool, each with a 180×200 cm king bed, walk-in closet, in-room safe, a small work desk, AC, and a TV. One reviewer mentioned that the rooms lock from the inside, which mattered to a family travelling with a five-year-old who they didn't want wandering toward the pool unsupervised. It's that kind of practical layout. Bathrooms are separate (toilet and shower divided), hot water is properly hot, hair dryer and toiletries waiting. The kitchen is a standalone pavilion across the garden: a stainless-steel gas stove, full-size fridge, kettle, blender, rice cooker, even a bread maker and wine glasses, so cooking dinner here is genuinely a real option rather than a kitchenette gesture. There's an outdoor dining area and an outdoor kitchen with oven and BBQ grill if you'd rather grill.

The 3×7 m infinity pool is the spine of the property: open 24 hours, edge-tiled, with a filtration system that runs more or less constantly so the water stays clear (one January guest singled out the filtration as a reason this is the cleanest pool they'd swum in across Bali). Sun loungers line one side, the garden wraps the other. On a hot Ubud afternoon it's the entire point of being here. We can arrange a floating breakfast or have warung breakfast delivered to the pool deck if you'd like to make a morning of it.

The neighbourhood is Petulu, six minutes by scooter or Grab to Ubud Palace and the central market, ten minutes to the Monkey Forest, and fifteen minutes north to the Tegalalang Rice Terraces, close enough to do town in the morning and rice paddies in the afternoon without losing half the day in traffic. Reviewers consistently mention Bella Tacos as a nearby favourite, and Cafe Balismo is the closest walkable food option. The villa includes two parking spaces and an EV charger on premises, which is useful if you've rented a car. Honest note: roosters do greet the sunrise and a neighbour dog might bark occasionally. Most guests find this a pleasant reminder that they're in actual Bali, not a resort, but it's worth knowing.

Angga Sari fits couples who want quiet and families travelling with kids equally well. Three generations stayed together in one of our most-loved recent bookings, with the separate-pavilion layout giving grandparents and parents real privacy. It also works as a remote-work base: dedicated workspace in each room and 100 Mbps Wi-Fi we test monthly. We arrange airport pickup, babysitter recommendations, in-villa massage with Nicky who comes to you, and motorbike rentals, and you can book direct for slightly better rates than the listing sites. Message us on WhatsApp at +62 859-3524-3151 with your dates, we'll confirm availability and send a final quote within an hour.

Three generations stayed including my 5-year-old granddaughter. The place was immaculate, safe and private. Two completely separate rooms and bathrooms meant privacy for everyone. Pool was lovely and a good depth for young children. Breakfast was delivered, well presented. Massage came to the villa, excellent value. Fabulous time and would highly recommend.

The villa is great! It might be a bit hard to locate at first as you walk into a small alley, but once you do it’s easily accessible. Overall it’s peaceful and private and we absolutely loved the pool. The host is friendly and the hospitality is wonderful. Greatly recommend for a quiet, chill getaway with friends or family.

I’ve been to Bali five times and this is by far the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. For the price we paid, I couldn’t believe it. I would definitely come back if I ever visit Ubud again. So amazing. I hope to own a home like this one day.

FAQ

Booking Angga Sari Villa: common questions

Tap any question to expand. Can't find your answer? WhatsApp us, we usually reply within the hour.

Is Angga Sari Villa good for families with young children?

Yes. The two ensuite bedrooms sit on opposite sides of the pool and lock from the inside, which parents travelling with toddlers have specifically praised, and the 3x7 m pool has a child-friendly depth. Three generations have happily stayed together here, and we can suggest a trusted babysitter on request.

Does Angga Sari have air conditioning and fast Wi-Fi?

Yes. Every bedroom has air conditioning and a TV, and the villa runs on 100 Mbps Wi-Fi we test monthly, with a dedicated workspace in each room, so it works well for remote work as well as a holiday.

How do I find the entrance to Angga Sari?

The villa is reached down a narrow alley off Jl. Tirta Tawar, between two family compounds, so it feels a little hidden at first. We send a one-page arrival guide with a map pin and photos before check-in, and host I Nyoman Suardika or a family member meets you at the gate.

How far is Angga Sari from central Ubud and the airport?

It is in Petulu, about six minutes by scooter or Grab to Ubud Palace and the market, ten minutes to the Monkey Forest, and fifteen minutes to the Tegalalang Rice Terraces. Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS) is roughly 75 to 90 minutes by car, and we can arrange a private transfer.

Can we cook at the villa, and is the pool always open?

The kitchen is a full standalone pavilion with a gas stove, full-size fridge, rice cooker and even a bread maker, plus an outdoor BBQ, so cooking real meals is easy. The 3x7 m infinity pool is open 24 hours with constant filtration.
