It's the kind of place you only find because you went looking for it, which is the whole appeal.

The single ensuite bedroom is a wood-frame pondok with a king bed under a generous mosquito net, a wardrobe with hangers, AC, room-darkening shades, and an open-plan layout that lets the jungle in through the rooflines. The bathroom adds a bathtub, bidet, hot water and the usual toiletries. Adam's review specifically called the shower 'luxurious' and the bed 'extremely comfortable,' which tracks with how almost every guest describes the sleep here. The kitchen pavilion has cooking basics (pots and pans, kettle, freezer, dining table, oil and salt and pepper) enough for self-catering breakfast, simple lunches and tea on the deck. For dinner most guests order in from one of the cafes 5-10 minutes away; Kadek can phone the order in for you and food typically arrives within fifteen minutes.

The 3×6 m private pool sits at the edge of the deck looking straight into jungle and rice paddies: no neighbour overlooks it, no road noise, just the layered sound of insects and the occasional bird. Open all hours, sun loungers along the edge, a small hot tub off to one side. The floating breakfast is the moment most couples photograph: a tray of fresh fruit, coffee, eggs and pastries set on a wooden float in the middle of the pool, ordered the night before for IDR 250k for two. On a warm afternoon the water clears your head better than anything else here.

The villa is in the Sebali banjar, Tegalalang: fifteen minutes by scooter or Grab to the famous rice terraces (close enough to get there at sunrise before the tour buses), fifteen minutes to Campuhan Ridge Walk, and twenty minutes to Ubud Palace and the Monkey Forest. Alas Harum adventure park is also nearby. Reviewers mention a spa within a ten-minute walk where Kadek can book a couples massage. Honest about the quirks: this is real jungle, so geckos in the bathroom, insects after dark, the bathroom and kitchen are partly open to the elements by design, and there are a couple of neighbour dogs in the area. One reviewer, Esar, mentioned a dog that came after them at night on the lane and Pande was happy to escort guests back when it happened. None of this is a dealbreaker for jungle-loving travellers but it's worth setting expectations. Insect spray is provided, and we'd recommend using it.
